The socio-economic report prepared by the Federation of Agricultural Food Cooperatives based on data from 253 Valencian first-degree cooperatives in 2020, reveals that 3 agricultural cooperatives in the Upper Ribera continue to be among the top-ten cooperatives with the highest turnover in the Valencian Community.
The Sant Bernat de Carlet Agricultural Cooperative ranked seventh with a turnover of 39.08 million euro (slightly more than the 38.14 million euro it achieved in the previous year), the Nuestra Señora del Oreto Cooperative (Canso) of l'Alcúdia rank ninth with 31.27 million euro (33.98 million euros the previous year), and the Cooperative of Camp de Castelló ranked tenth with a turnover of 29.02 million euro (26 million in the previous year).
Canso also ranked third in the ranking of first-degree cooperatives with the highest volume of exports, with sales abroad amounting to 23.45 million euro, while the Castelló cooperative ranked fifth with 21.42 million euro.
The ten most powerful Valencian first-degree cooperatives had a turnover of 445.81 million euro in 2020, which was higher than the 429 million euro they achieved in the previous year. The aggregate turnover of the 253 cooperatives participating in this report amounted to 2,152 million euro, a very similar number to the one achieved in 2019. The final value of the marketed production amounted to 1,216 million compared to 1,263 million in 2019.
