Moroccan citrus exports at a record high

According to data from the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, Rural Development, and Water and Forests, Moroccan citrus exports have witnessed record volumes this season. During the current campaign spanning from September 2021 to June 2022, the volume of citrus exports reached 735 400 tons, recording a growth of 42% compared to the same period of the previous campaign, said the ministry in a statement.

This growth trend has affected all types of citrus for all export destinations. The volume of exports reached 628 600 tons at the end of the current campaign, an increase of about 40% compared to the previous campaign. Exports of oranges (large fruit) also recorded a growth of 62% to reach a volume of about 97 200 tons, said the same source.
