Iván Marambio will assume the presidency of ASOEX in September

Iván Marambio Castaño will assume the presidency of ASOEX in September of this year; a leadership that will mark a new stage in the history of the Association of Fruit Exporters of Chile AG, an entity that has been contributing to the development and growth of Chile's fresh fruit export sector, the people in the sector, and the country for the past 87 years.

Ivan Marambio is a lawyer from the Diego Portales University and much of his professional life has been linked to the fruit industry.

He was born in 1966, and has been married to Isabel Gonzalez Retamal for 27 years ago, with whom he has three daughters. Two of them are studying at the university and the other one has already graduated. He's a football fan and considers himself a 'crusader at heart'. He also practices golf and running.

He studied at the Colegio San Ignacio El Bosque in Santiago. He worked in various law firms and then started working in the fruit industry in 2000, as an executive of Dole Chile SA, where he has played leadership roles in the legal areas for Chile, Latin America, and South Africa, in matters related to sustainability and the export of fresh fruits from different countries.

Since 2014 he has served as a member of the Board of Directors of ASOEX, and within the next few months he will assume as president of the entity; a position he said he would assume with great commitment and optimism. “It is a great responsibility. I think that leading Chile's fruit export industry is a very important job and a necessary task in several aspects. On the one hand, for the associates, but also for the country, for the people who are behind fruit export. The fruit export world is huge. I take on the future work with a lot of responsibility, but I'm also optimistic about what we can do to take the industry where, we as a sector, want it to go."

"I am honored to represent the people with whom I have worked for a large part of my life," he added.
