Musang King durian plantation part of the investment

Widuri Capital Management launches Intisar fund

Capital Management Sdn Bhd has launched a private equity fund, Widuri Intisar Fund via its wholly owned subsidiary, Widuri Intisar Sdn Bhd, and targets a fund size of RM100 million with a tenure of three years.

Executive chairman Prof Ahmad Zakie Ahmad Shariff said the fund aims to provide funding to local companies in the mining, agriculture and construction sectors. He said the instrument for investment shall be in the form of equity, debt or a hybrid of equity and debt. Intisar Fund forecasts specified target returns of 12% per annum to the investors of the fund.

“It is part of Widuri Capital Management’s group-wide private equity strategy which focuses on three major sectors — namely mining, agriculture and construction,” Ahmad Zakie said. Amanah Warisan Bhd will be the fund’s trustee.

Capital for the Musang King durian plantation in Pahang shall be allocated towards the development and planting of the durian Musang King species.

“In regards to the Musang King durian plantation, we note that China’s ever-growing demand for durian is expected to drive the global trade growth for the durian industry, with demand set to exceed US$24 billion (RM105.34 billion) by 2030,” Ahmad Zakie said.
