Princess Amandine Ibérica will supply its French partners with new Spanish potatoes for the first time

This was one of the objectives of the project created three years ago by the association composed of Iberica de Patatas de Madrid, Zamorano de Barcelona, Udapa del País Vasco, and the Portuguese Campotec.

In June, Princesa Amandine Ibérica will begin supplying its French partners with new Spanish potato for the first time ever. This year, the company will register a new growth in its production in Spain and Portugal, which began in 2020.

Two years ago, the company had 40 hectares devoted to this crop in the provinces of Seville, Murcia, Valladolid, and Silveira Torres Vedras. In 2021 they expanded their area to 80 hectares and the forecast for 2022 is to reach 120 hectares.

"We have tripled the production area in two years and we want to continue expanding the cultivation land by adding the Álava area in the Basque Country," stated Jean Michel Beranger, CEO of Princesa Amandine Ibérica. The goal of the partnership is to achieve a marketed potato volume of 5,000 tons by the end of 2022.

Expansion in distribution
Princesa Amandine is currently amidst its development phase in the Iberian market after two and a half years of marketing its potato. It is the only brand that offers the same variety to the consumer during the 12 months of the year.

The potatoes of this variety can be currently found in the main Spanish distribution chains, such as Alcampo, Ahorramás, Eroski, Carrefour, El Corte Inglés, DIA, Lidl. It is also available in other regional establishments, such as Consum (in Catalonia), Lupa (in Cantabria, Castile and Leon, and La Rioja), and Hiper Usera.

In Portugal it can be found in different chains, such as Continente, Auchan, Intermerché, and Pingo Doce. Meanwhile, in France, it can be purchased in the country's main retailers: Auchan, E.Leclerc, Lidl, Intermarché, Cora, Carrefour, Monoprix, Match, Géant Casino, Chronodrive, and Franprix, among others.

Princesa Amandine's business model is also present in Scandinavia and it will soon land in Germany.
