Latin American producers will join forces to demand respect for banana prices

Latin American banana producers will meet in Berlin this week to outline a proposal so that the price of the box of fruit in the European market is respected and that buyers comply shared responsibility commitments.

The trip “is concomitant with the call I made in January to all the banana-producing countries, represented by their ministers of Agriculture, to claim the bad treatment we have in the price of the fruit,” Pedro Álava, Minister of Agriculture, stated.
