Murano SpA, Italy

The Italian dried fruit brand Fatina was awarded the title of historic brand of national interest

"We are extremely satisfied and proud of this prestigious recognition, which was achieved thanks to trust placed in us by the sales industry and, above all, the preference of Italian consumers. In 2021, our FATINA brand grew by 25.3% in volumes and 27.9% in value. This is an even more remarkable result in a complex year due to the well-known logistical delays and the drop in production of the main crops," said the management of Murano SpA, an Italian company from Campania, leader in the dried fruit sector under the brand name Fatina.

The enthusiasm exudes from Murano's headquarters. The company's Fatina brand has been awarded the prestigious recognition of historic trademarks of national interest by the Italian Ministry of Economic Development. This special register was introduced to protect made in Italy branded products that have at least 50 years of registered trademark ownership. (Source: IRI-Infoscan)

Murano SpA, founded in 1944, operates in Italy with two state-of-the-art factories. The first - the industrial heart of the group - is in Pomigliano d'Arco (NA), covering an area of 60,000 square meters, a reference point in Europe for applied technology and quality (Murano has obtained the most important international certifications in terms of quality with the highest ranking). The company is equipped with the latest generation of automated and integrated 4.0 production lines. Production lines and data are accurately processed by the MES (manufacturing-execution-system) for a full control of every single processing phase. The second plant, in Agropoli (SA), is dedicated to typical specialities, from soft fruit to dehydrated fruit, including chocolate-covered dried fruit that are also very popular in international markets.

The brand awareness is very high. The products have an excellent position in the fruit and vegetable and snacking departments of the major supermarket chains. The references are easily recognizable on the shelf, thanks to the iconic brand.

Consumers have always appreciated the high quality of our production, which is made possible thanks to the selection of raw materials. Moreover, in recent years the company has invested heavily in sustainability, with 100% recyclable packs, renewable energy from photovoltaics, optimized logistics and strong fill rates, as well as many other successful projects that have significantly contributed to the success of the group in terms of sustainability. Thanks to our very popular social channels, we are in close contact with the consumer and communicate our corporate values not only about quality and sustainability, but also about ethics and innovation, values that are deeply rooted in the company's history," concluded the company manager.

The company announced important news for 2022/23.
