Salix Fruits opens office in Spain

Salix Fruits, an importer and export of fresh fruits, continues its global expansion by opening its office in Valencia, Spain.

With this, Salix Fruits has a strategic origin for the global supply of fresh fruits so it can continue to supply growing demand in the markets it serves. The Spanish office means the company has increased its presence to eight locations in the world to be closer to its suppliers and customers.

Martín Pedraza, a specialist in foreign trade, will lead the Spanish team. His professional experience in product development for the Argentine and Chilean citrus industry makes him the ideal person to expand the business and develop long-term relationships with growers in Europe, Morocco and Egypt.

"We are happy to continue growing in this pandemic context that does not seem to end," says Alejandro Moralejo, CEO of Salix Fruits. "Developing this region to supply the global markets we serve is a long-awaited wish we are fulfilling. And adding a professional like Martín Pedraza is the push we needed to achieve the challenge of turning Spain into one of the most important countries of origin for our company.”

Salix partner and CFO Daniel Calvo trusts that this development supports the company’s growth plan and expects to add another 300 containers in the next three years to the current supply of 2,500 containers yearly.
