Peruvian blueberry exports have increased by 29%

According to data from the Exporters Association (ADEX) of Peru, 968 million dollars worth of blueberries have been exported between January and October of this year. This put blueberries at the second spot of export fruit generating the highest value, after the avocado. Mango, mandarin, banana and pomegranate completed the list.

Only during October, the blueberry again became the most exported agricultural product in Peru. The shipment abroad of the berry reached 291 million dollars according to data from National Institute of Statistics and Informatics of Peru (INEI). This represents an increase of 9.7% compared to the same month in 2020.

The US remains the main market for the fruit. Some 7% more was sent to the North American country, reaching 160 million dollars last October. The US is also the main market for Peruvian fruits, accumulating a total of 1.249 million dollars so far this year.
