There are more uncertainties in the market

Overall demand in China's onion market is sluggish

Recently, China's onion market demand has been sluggish, trading activity has declined, and prices have also generally declined. The price fluctuations in Gansu production areas are relatively small, while Shandong cold storage onions are slow to sell, and prices are in disorder.

Currently the seller’s mentality is generally positive, but some people are still watching the market. The main reasons are the following: First, as of early December 2021, Shandong cold storage onions and Gansu onions are in sufficient supply, and the overall remaining volume is greater than at the same period last year. Most people intend to sell products around New Year's Day, and there is a greater risk of squeezing the goods together when they arrive at the market. Secondly, Yunnan onions in 2022 will be on the market about one month earlier than in 2021. A small portion of early-ripening onions has already been harvested in mid-December. They are mainly supplied to the surrounding market. The concentrated fresh onions will inevitably have a certain impact on the price of aging onions.

At the same time, there is no obvious positive boost for the market in the sales area for the time being, but due to factors such as weather, the epidemic situation, and terminal demand, there is still great uncertainty in the market.
