Almeria produced 81% of the zucchini that Spain exported during the 2020/21 campaign

Eight out of ten zucchinis that Spain exported in the 2020/2021 season originated from Almeria, as this region produced 80.97% of the 448.45 million kilos of zucchinis that the country exported in the last season.

According to data produced by Hortoinfo, Almeria exported 363.11 million kilos of zucchinis (56.21% more than ten campaigns ago) for a value of 324.68 million euro and an average price of € 0.89/kg, the highest in the last four seasons.

It was followed by Murcia, which exported 17.61 million kilos (3.93% of the Spanish total) for 13.63 million euro and an average price of € 0.77/kg.

The province of Valencia ranked third with 16.03 million kilos worth 19.91 million euro and an average price of € 1.24/kg.

Alicante ranked fourth with 11.04 million kilos worth 12.03 million euro and an average price of € 1.09/kg.

Finally, Barcelona closed the top 5 ranking after exporting 9.44 million kilos for 7.74 million euro and an average price of € 0.82/kg.
