Uzbekistan increases exports of table grapes by 58% in 2021

From the beginning of June to the end of October 2021, the exports of table grapes from Uzbekistan increased by 58% in volume compared to the same period in 2020. At the same time, the amount of exports earnings increased by 9%.

The season for exporting table grapes in Uzbekistan starts in the second half of June and lasts until March – around 9 months. At the same time, the most active period of shipments to foreign markets is from July to November inclusive, the total share of these five months accounts for about 80-90% of the total export volume for the entire season. Thus, there is a month left before the end of the period of peak exports of table grapes from Uzbekistan.

According to the Customs Committee of the Republic, from the beginning of June to the end of October 2021, Uzbekistan exported 167.8 thousand tonnes of table grapes worth USD 113.5 million.

In the same period last year, the volume of exports of these products amounted to 106.1 thousand tonnes, worth USD 104.2 million reports East Fruit

An increase in export earnings by 9% with such a solid growth in export volumes 58% is explained by the fact that the prices for shipment of Uzbek table grapes to foreign markets this year are about 30% lower than in the same period in 2020.

98% of total table grape exports from Uzbekistan were exported to Russia, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan. At the same time, about 50% of exports are in Russia, 35% in  Kazakhstan and 13% in Kyrgyzstan. Another 1% of the total exports of fresh table grapes are in Belarus (0.5%) and Ukraine (0.5%), each of which imported Uzbek grapes in the amount of 750-800 tonnes. In addition, single shipments of table grapes up to 50 tons were delivered to Germany, Latvia and Mongolia.
