Kiwi Media Ltd offers reusable bags made of recyclable polypropylene cotton, jute and paper for the food retail trade, especially for retail markets such as Rewe and Edeka. But individual farm businesses are also showing keen interest in their products. The company receives the jute, cotton and polypropylene bags from China and India, among other countries. "The increased freight costs are already causing us slight concern. We have already had to adjust the prices for the bags accordingly," Managing Director Norman Killius tells us.

Nevertheless, Killius is pleased about a significant increase in demand. Owner-operated retail stores are among his most loyal customers. Since the Europe-wide ban on plastic bags on July 3, 2021, many businesses and retailers have had to adapt accordingly, which is why Kiwi Media's products came at the right moment for them. At the same time, individual customers are currently having to wait six months for their printed paper bags in some cases due to the current circumstances. "We are looking forward to presenting our products again at expoSE," says Killius.
