The Centre for Disease Control (CDC) in Zhangyang county, Zhumadian, announced on the 5th of October that traces of Covid-19 were found on the packaging of Thai durian. The durian were imported via Yuncheng in Shanxi, where the tests took place. Some of the durian were distributed to Zhumadian Market. One box of eight durian was purchased in Zhangyang, and some of the affected durian have already been sold to the public.
The CDC further announced that they carried out tests and traced contact for all products, people, and places involved. All the personnel tested negative, and all the places tested negative too. The stores involved in this case have been temporarily closed and disinfected in accordance with regulations on quarantine and isolation.
