CBI presents Moldovan fruit exporters in Madrid

Next week when the fruit and vegetable professionals can finally meet again physically in the Fruit Attraction fair in Madrid, the Fruit Producers and Exporters Association Moldova Fruct will also be exhibiting. This year, for the second time, Moldovan tasty apples, table grapes and plums will be presented at the Fruit Attraction exhibition.

According to Piet Schotel, external consultant for CBI, the Moldovan organization is excited to attend the exhibition once again: “The Fruit Producers and Exporters Association Moldova Fruct is the largest association dedicated to advancing the horticultural sector in the Republic of Moldova. The organization will represent the horticultural sector of the country. Moldova Fruct accounts for over 180 of the largest and the most advanced agribusinesses operating in Moldova. Besides fruit growers, their members include fruit processors, exporters and service providers.”

“Annually more than 500,000 tons of apples, 90,000 tons of plums, 130,000 tons of table grapes are harvested in Moldova. In addition, Moldovan producers can deliver aromatic apricots, firm and tasty cherries and high-quality dried fruits,” Schotel explains. “Moldova prides itself in having an unique geographical position between the Carpathian mountains and the Black Sea, providing a rich soil and combined with the abundance sun hours it gives the products a superior taste. Therefore the slogan of Moldova Fruct is: ‘Taste makes the difference’.”

CBI, the Centre for the Promotion of Imports from developing countries supports 5 exporters in the Moldova stand. These 5 companies are participants in the CBI Export Coaching Program since 2018 and have proven to be ready for the European market. All 5 are GlobalG.A.P. certified, and are holding other certificates such as GRASP, ISO 26000 and others.

The Moldova Fruct stand can be found in Hall 10 – E07 during the Fruit Attraction in Madrid, 5-7 October.
