New wave of innovations allow independent grocers to offer new paths to online purchase

Retailer-branded mobile app and online SNAP unveiled at NGA show in Las Vegas

Rosie will unveil two important initiatives during the NGA Show in Las Vegas September, 19-20 2021: Rosie Mobile, a white label mobile app, and Online SNAP Payments. Both Online SNAP Payments and the next-gen store branded mobile app allow independent retailers to meet and exceed shopper expectations in how they purchase and pay for online groceries.

Rosie is launching its first store-branded mobile app for independent grocers. Rosie’s presence at the NGA Show is part of ongoing pre-sale efforts to give retailers the opportunity to reserve their mobile app ahead of the release.

“Many of our retailers’ customers prefer placing grocery orders from their mobile devices. In fact, 50% of customers shop on mobile and conversion rates are three times higher than on desktop,” said Haley Sammis, Head of Account Management at Rosie.

Rosie’s online SNAP pilot comes after many months of development and coordination between Rosie retailers, FNS, and Fiserv. Both of these improve the online shopping experience Rosie’s retail partners are able to offer their customers and make ecommerce an accessible option for more people.

“SNAP customers deserve the same conveniences as cash and credit paying customers,” says Irene Cooper, Project Manager at Lake Region IGA. “With Rosie's guidance we have been approved for the pilot program. Providing our SNAP paying customers the ability to shop online and get their groceries delivered is on the top of our list for 2021.”

In Rosie’s 6th year attending the NGA Show and as a 2021 sponsor, “Ecommerce is better with Rosie” is exemplified by these two launches, as well as a panel discussion centered around digital merchandising. “The Future of Digital Merchandising,” takes place the morning of Monday, September 20th, moderated by Rosie’s Founder & CEO Nick Nickitas with retailer panelists Thomas Horne (Associated Food Stores), Jodi Drake (Davis Food & Drug), and Alexa Dash (Dash’s Market).“We couldn’t be more excited to attend NGA’s conference again in person so we can connect with those we’re here to serve: independent grocers,” shared Paul Hemingway, SVP of Rosie.

“This is an opportunity for Rosie to share some truly groundbreaking tools that will push our retailers’ online offering to the next level and prove to their customers that choosing to shop locally is just as easy and convenient as choosing the big box store down the street.”

Earlier this year, Rosie completed a $10 million round of Series A funding, enabling the team to introduce new tools to enhance the shopper and retailer experience, launch new products to provide a seamless omnichannel journey for shoppers at home, in-store, or on-the-go, further invest in monetization opportunities to increase retailer profitability, and recruit the best and brightest talent to accelerate product development.
