New products showcased at Cibus 2021

There is a need to restart after months of closures but, most of all, there is the need to discuss the commercial situation, considering the changes that have occurred over the past year and a half on both a production and consumption level. The 2020 edition of ERA was cancelled due to the pandemic. The 2021 edition of Cibus in Parma, in collaboration with Federalimentare, will also include digital meetings. FreshPlaza talked to some of the exhibitors to illustrate the new products and trends.

“We presented the new processed product range (Hall 5 - Stand B34) to the many foreign buyers, especially from the US and Latin America. Not many Italian visitors attended, maybe due to the new anti-Covid regulations demanding a Green Pass to enter," reports Stefania Montali, marketing manager and owner of Industrie Montali.

Industrie Montali presented its new Chef range: a series of products with a high concentration of raw material available in the onion, caper, garlic, soffritto and double tomato concentrate flavors. It is an original solution available in practical 90 gram tubes easy to use in the kitchen and suitable to add flavor to sauces, meat or a simple pasta dish.

“Then there is also the Sauce range, available in the Sweet&Sour with Onion, Cocktail, Barbecue and Ketchup flavors in either tubes or single-serve sachets. Sachets are made of aluminum laminate, they tear open and can be used directly without heating them up. They contain one exact portion of product, so there is no waste. The packaging takes up 30% less space on the shelves and helps diminish energy consumption within the logistic chain."

Azienda agricola Patea - which attended the fair in Hall 3 Stand 50 - showcased its Amaro Cardus, which has won the "Best Product of Year 2021" award in the Bergamot orange world.

Amaro Cardus is the first ones made entirely in Brancaleone (RC) from the infusion of wild thistle, blueberries and Bergamot oranges from Reggio Calabria. It is particularly appreciated for its authentic flavor and strong digestive aid. Available in the 50 / 70 / 100 cl formats.

"Our Amaro Cardus was extremely successful due to its distinct, aromatic and persistent flavor obtained according to the most traditional production methods which include 40 days of infusion in steel casks and an alcohol post-reduction to 28%. The maceration processes of the three ingredients activate the extraction of the bitter components, thanks to which the final product facilitates digestive activities. The color is a classic brown color and the flavor conveys the feelings of a journey to the deep south of Italy," explains Fabio Trunfio, owner and sales manager.

Agricola Patea has always worked in the research, production and transformation of Bergamot oranges and wanted to impregnate Amaro Cardus with the true symbol of the territory. Bergamot orange peel infused in alcohol expresses an aroma that is among the most appreciated in the world.
