Domenico De Lucia

Short chain and high service content are added value for the ready-to-eat range

Domenico De Lucia will attend Macfrut, the international fresh produce fair to be held in Rimini on September 7-9, 2021.

The company specializes in the processing of fresh produce and is currently focusing on steam-cooked products and dried fruit.

Igino Cecchetti and Pino Colonna, co-directors of the sales department at Domenico De Lucia.

Un business che si orienta al consumatore, oltre che al retailer: strategie di branding per la Domenico De Lucia
"In Rimini, we will present a wide range of steam-cooked products and nuts, for which the added value is a controlled chain. This is to offer a higher service content to final consumers guaranteeing high-quality and freshness. Our products include walnuts rom Sorrento, chestnuts and steam-cooked vacuum-packed yellow beetroots," report Igino Cecchetti and Pino Colonna, co-directors of the sales department at De Lucia.

As for green investments to safeguard the environment, walnuts from Sorrent are available in 500 gram compostable packs. The packaging is fully-flexible and compostable and, after its industrial degradation at the end of the cycle, it will have the same characteristics of organic waste.

"During 2020, we worked to set up an project with the Vacchiano brothers, historical producers of walnuts, based on environmental sustainability. Domenico De Lucia aims at giving its contribution to keep rural Campania alive, promoting the organoleptic peculiarities of local agricultural resources and directly controlling all productive factors that contribute to their production."

Bollottole are chestnuts developed to offer a valid alternative to the classic product, which has been lacking in the past few years despite the lively demand. Caldarroste Frescotti represent the evolution of home-roasted chestnuts: they are whole chestnuts with a scored peel and roasted just like those we would find in kiosks. They are easy to prepare as they only need warming up and toasting slightly in a pan to enjoy the full flavor and experience of roasted chestnuts.

"Chestnuts are graded and steam-cooked using a process that conveys the same flavor, aroma and feel typical of roasted chestnuts. After a careful R&D process, we have managed to obtain a unique product compared to competitors who only offer peeled chestnuts."

Ready-to-eat yellow beetroots are fully-traceable. The steam-cooking and vacuum-seal preserve their organoleptic and nutritional qualities. Their flavor is truly unique, as it is sweeter and less earthy than that of red beetroots. They are available in 500 g packets.

"The main difference between red and yellow beetroots is the flavor, as the latter are more delicate and less bitter. They are more suitable for delicate palates and can be used for more recipes. The appearance also has an effect on sales, as bright yellow is more appealing. What is more, the liquid does not stain like that of red beetroots." With this product, De Lucia wants to increase the number of consumers thanks to a friendlier product.

"We will welcome you at Macfrut at the Agrocepi stand in stand 35, hall B1 to illustrate what is new. Do not miss it!"
