AUSVEG engage with the Federal Government and Anti-Dumping Commission on potential threat to potato industry

The national Peak Industry Body for potato growers, AUSVEG, has been actively working with growers and the wider industry on a range of issues pertaining to potato growers.

AusNet Western Victoria Transmission Network Project
AUSVEG has been engaging with Victorian growers and with its State Member AUSVEG VIC about the AusNet Western Victoria Transmission Network Project, which will see high quality agricultural land impacted by mega powerlines.

The area is a major potato production region of Victoria, and the proposed project will impact more than 40 growers directly and more than 1,000 hectares of growing land.

Local growers are concerned about the impact that the powerlines will have on their land and production. AUSVEG will continue to work with its State Member and growers in the region to ensure that their concerns are heard.

Potato Dumping
AUSVEG is continuing to keep in touch with the major potato processors regarding the potential for dumping of potato imports from Europe.

Major processors are monitoring and looking to gather evidence if, or when, European potato imports come to Australia.

AUSVEG is also continuing to engage with the Federal Government and with the Anti-Dumping Commission on this potential threat to industry.
