Peruvian Mayan sweet onions now available

The Peruvian sweet onion is typically available from late July through early March, and this year is no different for Keystone, a division of Progressive Pro-duce.

The company expects to have supplies available from all of its warehouses during the usual sales season. “We want to provide our loyal customers with the exceptional product and service they’re accustomed to receiving,” shared Mike Blume, Director of Sales and Marketing.

"With worldwide inflation, the rising costs of transportation, and Peru facing labor challenges, it is no secret that this year has been – and will continue to be – a difficult one for imported sweet onions," explained Blume. "Our team, however, is ready to rise to the challenge, and with advanced notice, we can certainly cover your needs."

“Keep an eye out for our rich maroon and gold Mayan Sweets label – recently refreshed and looking better than ever.”

"Mayan Sweets are one of the world's best known sweet onions. Put our beautiful onions at the front of your store; promote for the holidays and special events; and cross-promote with other items," advises sweet onion commodity manager, Matthew Gideon. "Provide information to your customers about what makes our Mayan Sweets so special.”

Peruvian Mayan Sweets are offered in the trusty 40lb carton and a wide variety of consumer packs.
