Extenda opens markets for Andalusia's agricultural auxiliary industry in Indonesia, Thailand and Vietnam

Extenda has organized a trade mission to Indonesia, Thailand and Vietnam for Andalusia's agricultural auxiliary industry, given how the Southeast Asia region has the highest growth prospects in the world for the coming years. The main objective is to open new markets and diversify the export destinations of Andalusian companies in a sector that has a high demand for fertilizers and agricultural equipment and machinery.

The meeting, held in a digital format this time, has made it possible to hold more than 90 online business meetings between 11 firms in the community and 67 international operators. The aim is to improve the international business portfolio of a sector that in the first four months of 2021 has already recovered its export pace, growing by 4.7% year-on-year and reaching 242 million in sales, making Andalusia the fourth most important exporting region in this industry at national level.

According to Extenda data, governments and key players in Thailand, Indonesia and Vietnam are aware of the need to generate value in their productions and deliver value-added products that can compete globally. Moreover, agreements such as the Free Trade Agreement between Vietnam and the EU make this part of the world one of the most interesting places in the short, medium and long term.

In recent years, the strengthening of the domestic demand due to a rise in private consumption and investment in Thailand has made the country's economy more resilient in the face of the pandemic. The prospect is that, with the expected reopening to tourism, which is one of its economic engines, there will be a strong recovery and growth.

Almeria, the most represented
Eleven Andalusian companies have taken part in the meeting between the agricultural auxiliary industry and agents of the Asian markets. Of these, six come from the province of Almería: Biorizon, Criado y López, IDM, Nutriecol, Inagroup Biotech and Quelagrow Iberica).

Another two are based in the province of Seville, Productos A.J.F. and Lama Sistemas de Filtrado, and Malaga was represented by Deltalene Ejido; Granada, by Mafa Vegetal Ecobiology, and Huelva, by Técnicas San Jorge. The organization of this Extenda initiative will be co-financed with funds from the European Union through the ERDF OP of Andalusia 2014-2020, endowed with a Community contribution of 80%, or by any other European program likely to co-finance this action.
