Maersk announces a change at the helm of its organisation in the United Kingdom and Ireland, with its current Area Managing Director Jeremy Haycock, who has lead the organisation since early 2020, leaving the company at the end of July to pursue external career opportunities.
Replacing Jeremy is Gary Jeffreys, currently Managing Director of CMA CGM in the UK and Ireland, who will assume his new role on 10th August 2021.
“I thank Jeremy for his strong leadership and valuable contribution to Maersk in the UK and Ireland. During his time as Area Managing Director, Jeremy successfully led the organisation much impacted by COVID-19 restrictions and the impact of the pandemic in his markets and has done so with full focus on maintaining high customer experience and employee engagement,” shares Karsten Kildahl, Regional Managing Director for Maersk in Europe.
Gary Jeffreys is no stranger to A.P. Moller – Maersk, having previously held various leadership positions in the organisation. He started his career in shipping twenty years ago and joined the commercial team at Maersk UK back in 2003, where he held various senior positions, including Head of External Sales and the Country Manager for Safmarine. In addition, Gary spent time at the headquarters in Copenhagen heading up the Sales Capability function and before leaving Maersk for his sting at CMA CGM, he was Head of Customer Services for North West Europe at Maersk.

Gary Jeffrey is a University of Hertfordshire graduate and a London native and will be based in that city (Maersk’s UK HQ) in his new role.
