The Department for Environment, Food and Rural Areas has selected Kainos as its “digital distribution partner”, signing a £ 54.5 million two-year contract with the Belfast-based IT services company. The contract has already gone into effect and is valid until May 31, 2023. Defra also has the option to extend the contract for 6 months.
Alongside Kainos, the contract also lists five other digital transformation professionals as designated subcontractors. Made Tech; Hippo Digital; BJSS; and Red Rock Consulting. In the meantime, both companies will support the department’s “development and support of key services.” [its] Europe and trade … and future agriculture and country portfolios “. This includes platforms related to “Trade Services… Import, Export, Data and Reporting Services, Common Platforms, Centralized WebOps, and Chemicals”.
