“Demand for Turkish figs will be high”

“Applying blockchain technology is the inevitable future for the food industry”

In Turkey, quite a few seasons are about to kick off, like cherries, apricots and figs. One company is confident about their season, due to their commitment to using blockchain for its clients. They state it’s a major contributor to building trust with the customers that import their produce.

According to Ali Rıza Celik, CEO of Anka Frucht, the company is completely prepared for the new seasons of fruits. “At Anka Frucht, we’ve produced and exported cherries, apricots, figs, pomegranates, and grapes for years. We’re already ready for the upcoming seasons, thanks to our trust-based, innovative and experienced team. To make business more effective and practical in Europe, the company has also launched two brand new companies in Poland and Germany. For this year, we believe that it will be a really fruitful season for figs. It seems like demand will be really in the market and we are completely ready for the new season with our 1000 tons of capacity. We’re also proud to say that we will be the one of very first company in Turkey to have the first exportable figs, just like we did last season.’’

The Turkish exporter has built a traceability system via blockchain and QR code that provides complete transparency for the final consumers in the market, Celik says. ''Our company targets to provide solid and absolute reliance for our partners as well as final consumers. Therefore, blockchain technology is the best solution that we can come up with to make it happen,'' explains

''Applying blockchain technology is the inevitable future for the food industry. Because of the food industry's nature, it needs continuous, reliable, and sustainable information. We can strengthen the supply chain management, prevent food fraud while protecting the brand, build the trust and loyalty of customers and bring sustainability with the use of blockchain. Due to these reasons, we carry our servers to the blockchain. We're also very proud to say that we are the one and only company in Turkey to execute this system.'' says Cumhur Yantiri, board member of Anka Frucht.
