Two Dutch fruit coops considering partnership

In the Netherlands, two cooperatives are looking into a possible collaboration. They are the Fruitveiling Zuid-Limburg Cooperative, and Koninklijke FruitMasters. Fruitveiling Zuid-Limburg members decided this during their Extraordinary General Meeting. It was held on Thursday, 20 May. FruitMasters' Supervisory Board has agreed to this.

Investigating types of partnerships
Both fruit growers' organizations are optimistic about an eventual partnership. As well as the opportunities this will create for their members. Soon, the possible forms of cooperation will be investigated. The results are expected before the start of the new top fruit season. If these show there's sufficient basis for collaboration, further preparations will be made. That's before this is presented to the cooperatives' members during separate meetings.

Quality and certainty
"Both cooperatives have long been cultivating fruit on Dutch soil. The research will consider the possibilities and opportunities that a partnership could offer. The growers' interests and ensuring good fruit sales will be central to this," say representatives from both cooperatives.
