The Spring Sunshine Running Committee Producers Association has begun to promote legal actions against unauthorized producers and would like to recall that, although the period for the acquisition of new licenses is still open, the regularization of unauthorized plantations has entered its final stretch. These actions are focused on combating illegal exploitation by unauthorized producers that represent unfair competition to duly licensed producers and that are breaching current legislation regarding the protection of plant varieties and the rights of the breeder.
During the first months of the year, The Enforcement Organization SL (TEO), the entity in charge of the fight against varietal piracy, and the legal defense of the Spring Sunshine variety, among others, have already launched the first legal actions against people and entities that they are allegedly illegally exploiting the variety. These first legal actions have been carried out in the Valencian Community and Andalusia. Soon, they will also be carried out in the region of Murcia.
