Nick Dinkelaar: "Thanks to Ugofresh, our clients can get direct quotes"

Suncrops Europe sets course for digital development

Suncrops grows tomatoes and soft fruit in Morocco. It's going to use the Ugofresh service app hat will allow the company to provide additional services to its clients. Suncrops considers this online platform great added value. That's in the hectic fruit and vegetable world.

"In this fast-paced market, range, prices, and availability change rapidly. So, you want to be informed quickly and accurately. Soon, your greengrocer will be close at hand. That's thanks to a Ugofresh account on your computer. You can also get the mobile app," says a Suncrops representative.

Suncrops originated from a French and Moroccan family, who started the cultivation company. They have been growing tomatoes in the Agadir region of Morocco since 1989. The family patriarch and a friend started that. There, they grow round, beef, plum, cherry plum, cocktail, and cocktail truss tomatoes on 200 hectares.

And over the last five years, the area has been expanded by 175 hectares. These are used to cultivate soft fruits (blueberries and raspberries). The commerce, logistics, and supply head office is in Perpignan. There are also two sales support offices in Poland and the Netherlands. These organize sales in Europe and far beyond.

"Negotiations in the fruit and vegetable sector are mainly done through three channels. That's on the phone, via e-mail, and over Whatsapp. That's true for growers, wholesalers, brokers, and buyers. Contact with our customers is vital. But we know we can serve them even better," explains Nick Dinkelaar, account manager of Suncrops Europe's Account Manager.

"The global pandemic is currently greatly affecting the market. This crisis that everyone's experiencing emphasizes certain needs even more. We maintain commercial relationships with our clients. These aren't limited by product availability and good prices. Human contact is still an important building block in our market."

"We're, however, convinced that we must provide further customer service to keep them. Our salespeople spend a lot of time every day doing repetitive tasks. The Ugofresh platform provides support to both the seller and buyer. It has a single overview. That's concerning product information, certificates, prices, availability, and much more," says Nick.

"Thanks to Ugofresh, we can quote our clients directly. They benefit from a private connection. They can quickly view the quotes before calling us or ordering online. We have traditional price meetings. But, added to that, we update prices, availability, and product photos. That's on the Ugofresh platform. Then, in one click, the program generates an automated email with prices. These are personally linked to the relevant customer. They all get emails at the same time."

"Besides quotations, our clients can see all our certificates on Ugofresh. The certificates and analyses are systematically updated. We're then always ready to serve our customers. We provide them with all the fruit and vegetable conveniences," concludes Nick.
