Nendran bananas from Kerala are in great demand abroad. Currently, most are exported to the Gulf region. The goods will be brought to pack houses to undergo a plant quarantine inspection. They will then be taken to Kochi harbour, destined for London Gateway harbour. Finally, they will go to ripening chambers and be sent to customers in England and Scotland.
All the procedures involved are confirmed of traceability and QR code facility. The quality of the product can be ensured through this. Experts expect 2000 tons of nendran bananas to be shipped to London every year.
