Florette collected 3,500 tons of fresh vegetables in Soria during 2020

"All of our varieties come from fields that are close to the production centers"

In 2020 Florette collected more than 40,000 tons of fresh vegetables in Spain to produce nearly 200 million units of ready-to-eat fresh salads. Of that volume, nearly 3,500 tons of lettuce, endive, radicchio, chard, or spinach came from the province of Soria.

More than 1,800 producers throughout the national territory collaborate with the company supplying the six production centers that the company has in different areas of the country (Navarra, Castilla-La Mancha, Murcia, and the Canary Islands).

“All our varieties come from fields that are close to the production centers, where we wash, select, and pack the vegetables we then distribute to different points. Reducing the distances between the origin and destination of lettuce and vegetables allows us to ensure the product's freshness, while minimizing CO₂ emissions at the time of transport, contributing to the care of the environment and reducing the impact of our activity in the environment,” stated Nuria Alias, Florette's marketing director.

In 2020, the favorite Florette references in Castilla and Leon favorite were the Complete Pasta and Arugula Salad, the Complete Caesar Salad, and the First Shoots of Canon salad. Other references that fared very well were the Complete Gourmet Salad, spinach sprouts, or endive.

“Consumers who are increasingly concerned about maintaining their good health are demanding more and more locally grown fresh vegetables, contributing to the local economy and supporting national producers. We at Florette will keep working during 2021 to continue offering the highest quality product that is respectful of the environment and that helps people to eat better,” she stated.
