Alba Bio continues to innovate and grow

From pioneering in organic farming to innovation and modernization

"At times where it could be easier and more convenient to complain or to become discouraged, our reaction is to refrain from slowing down," said Vittorio Gona of growers' organization Alba Bio. Gona believes that optimism can provide a way out of the difficult situation. That said, the company is refreshing its brand with a new logotype.

"We are renewing our image with a new logo, which will be used for the next few years. It’s a half-arc of light that rises above the green lettering Alba Bio,” said Gona. (Picture on the right).

"It is a symbol that, in its simplicity and essence, seeks to portray the origins of our cooperative, in symbiosis with organic cultivation. It represents what we have always been and what we will continue to be. Twenty years ago we were among the first cooperatives to choose to produce organic in Italy.  Since then, we have grown into a highly valued productive and commercial business unit."

The revamped logo is designed to express the renewed intentions that the cooperative is planning to pursue from 2021 onwards. Alba Bio will focus on continuous growth in terms of innovation. "Modernization of structures, plants, technological equipment, packaging systems and digitalization of information and management systems are part of this process. These are profound changes that have been underway for some time and will be further consolidated this year."

"For some time now, Alba Bio has been able to guarantee fresh, organic crops throughout the year. We work for loyal customers who confirm each other's trust in the cooperation and plan with us the entire production and the references needed."

Market prices are in line with the season

Datterini tomatoes have an average price of € 3.20 per kg. Cherries are sold at € 2.50 per kg. Zucchini and eggplants are quoted at € 2.20 per kg. The celery has a price of € 1.20 per head, and for kohlrabi this is € 0.55 per piece. The pointed cabbage has a price of € 1.00 per kg and the red cabbage that of € 1.20 per kg.

Our assortment is constantly being supplemented with new varieties and new crops. Recently we started an experimental strawberry crop. We are receiving a lot of positive feedback so we plan to increase the cultivation. Our success is also due to the external technical advice we rely on. In the case of strawberries, we benefit from the expertise of agronomist Biagio Iemmulo," concluded Gona.
