After the construction of a Bailey bridge on the Srinagar-Jammu National Highway at Kela Morh, a little over 1,000 essential supply vehicles could to move towards the Kashmir valley. Earlier, authorities had suspended traffic movement on Srinagar-Jammu Highway after the retaining wall of a bridge at Kela Morh collapsed.
Among the 1048 essential supply vehicles were 108 trucks loaded with vegetables and 230 trucks carrying fruit. As of today, traffic will be allowed from Kashmir towards Jammu only as there are stranded vehicles in Kashmir and for tomorrow they will be allowed to move towards Jammu.
Restoration work on the bridge is ongoing and there will be strictly one way traffic on Srinagar-Jammu National Highway.
