The Strawberry Symposium 2021 will take place in a hybrid edition as previously announced (see Freshplaza of 10/06/2020), from 1-5 May 2021. But the big news is that the number of scientific contributions is 350, which is a true record.

"It promises to be a very top scientific Symposium as is also shown by the high number of scientific contributions approved. About half have been reviewed and will go into the conference proceedings, consisting of two volumes of about 1000 pages. The volumes will be available already in May, during the Symposium".
The conference will take place entirely online, on a virtual platform with different rooms and space for exhibitors. There is still some hope of a small part of the conference being held in a live setting.

"If the pandemic allows it, we will attempt to make some outdoor visits. However, it is still premature to make any assumptions. It will be decided later," said Baruzzi.
Most certainly, the before and after Symposium will be online and also most of the speakers will be connected remotely, from their own continent, as the Symposium is a global event.
