Dutch haulier, Van Duijn Transport, turns 75

A third generation works at the Dutch family business, Van Duijn Transport. This company's trucks have been on the road since 1946. And during that time, transportation has become increasingly important. That's especially true in the sector where Van Duijn offers added value - fresh and frozen products.

Defined markets
"We have defined markets in a few European countries. These are the Netherlands, Belgium, England, Norway, Finland, and France," explains owner Marcel van Duijn. "Within that region, we transport everything that needs to get to its final destination, either refrigerated or frozen. From groupage to complete loads."

"We do so 24/7, so also at night and on Sundays and public holidays. We do this with 160 vehicles. Our meat trailers are equipped with a tailboard, a double evaporator, and meat hooks. We have storage and transshipment facilities too. There, we can keep products in optimum condition at any temperature."

Tanke Transport name change
Van Duijn Transport recently fully integrated Tanke Transport. The company strategically acquired this business in 2017. "We had already merged behind the scenes. So in that sense, nothing changes for our clients. Well, except for the e-mail address. And if you click on Tanke's website, you'll reach our new site."

Looking ahead
Van Duijn's drivers work sustainably. Their trucks have Euro-6 engines, and the drivers get guidelines to minimize consumption. They also use fuel that benefits the environment, such as GTL (gas to liquid). "Soon, we'll be taking our first gas truck into operation. We're, therefore, actively contributing to a better environment," concludes Marcel.
