The Wageningen University and Research Food Price Monitor figures have been updated to include October 2020.
Fruit price index
With an index value of 119,5 (100 in 2015), October's fruit prices are remarkably high. Vegetable prices rose in that month too. But, over ten years, these fluctuated more. Nevertheless, consumer vegetable prices are also increasing over the longer term.
Vegetable price index
The potato consumer price index fell further in October. Producer prices remained stable. But grower prices decreased again in October after rising slightly in September. The corona crisis is still most visibly affecting this sector.
