ASOEX's first estimate for the 2020/21 season

"Chilean table grape exports will grow by almost 13%"

The President of the Association of Fruit Exporters of Chile AG (ASOEX), Ronald Bown Fernandez, stated that last week, the export grape industry had made this season's first table grape exports estimate. The estimate was based on the information of 30 companies, which accounted for 54% of last season's exports.

"We estimate that Chile will export 82,309,644 standardized boxes of 8.2 kg, i.e. 674,939 tons of table grapes in the 2020-2021 campaign. This is 12.5% more than in the last season," he stated.

Bown also said that the table grape industry would make a second estimate in mid-January 2021.

Chile is currently the world's main supplier of table grapes, Bown stated. In terms of volume, the grapes are Chile's main export fruit, he added.

This graph shows the breakdown of the forecast by color (red, white, and black).
