Campaign kicks off for Spain's largest kiwifruit producer

"The characteristics of green kiwifruit make it the healthiest on the market"

Kiwi Atlántico has already started its new campaign and reports that its fruit is "larger and with excellent flavor." This has been confirmed by the managing director of the company, José Carlos Vila, who says that "the weather conditions during the summer, as well as the rain during the harvest, have contributed to the sour and sweetness levels being in perfect balance.” He also recalls that they remain committed to the green Hayward variety.

"Today, more than ever, we are committed to growing traditional green kiwifruit," he says. “Its characteristics make it the healthiest on the market and this pandemic has also served as a warning that a healthy diet is absolutely essential. The consumption of green kiwifruit has increased in these past few months, as consumers trust in the fruit's healthy characteristics. With this fruit, everything will go well," says Vila, referring to the slogan of his campaign: "May everything go well."

Kiwi Atlántico is working hard daily to minimize the risk of COVID-19 taking a toll on the plant. “The protection of our workers comes first. We carry out weekly tests on 25% of the personnel,” he says.

New investments for the coming years
Kiwi Atlántico is planning new projects that will require a significant financial investment over the next two years. Following the investments to expand the cold stores, change the refrigeration system and expand the manufacturing areas, the next step will be to expand the facilities, starting with the fruit reception area, as well as the stock area. It will also invest in new machinery, with changes in the grader and the palletizing automation.

In addition, they are already working on a project to acquire new farms worth over 1,500,000 Euro.
