Peru positioned itself as Spain's third supplier of avocados in the first half of the year

According to a report by Fresh Fruit, in the first half of 2020, Spanish avocado imports totaled 2.031 billion dollars, i.e. 13.9% more than in the same period of the previous year.

133 million dollars corresponded to shipments from Peru, which accounted for 6.55% of all the avocado that Spain imported in the first half of this year. This positions Peru as Spain's third supplier of avocados, improving its ranking by two positions over the same period of the previous year.

The value of the avocado exported to Spain increased by 37.5% when compared to the first semester of the previous year.
