Ukraine no longer number 1 in walnut exports to EU

The Leader of the Ukrainian Nut Association has stated that Ukraine is no longer tops the ranking of walnut exports to the European Union countries. "Today, there is great competition among countries on the global market. This has created a serious stir in walnut kernel exports. So now, in contrast to the Ukrainian products, Europe prefers walnuts from the U.S., Chile, and Argentina. One of our main buyers, Turkey, is buying walnuts from China at the moment.”

According to the Association, it is necessary to focus on quality of Ukrainian walnuts to make a difference. Since January 1, 2020, the country has shipped abroad almost 3,000 tonnes of semi-hard cheese, while buying 26,000 tonnes.
