The 'European Rendez-vous: French apples... very crunchy!' campaign begins

French apple exports to Colombia increased by 136%

For the third consecutive year, the “European Rendez-vous: French Apples” campaign arrives in Colombia. The campaign is financed by the French fruit and vegetable interprofessional organization, Interfel, with the help of the European Union, with the aim of supporting professionals in the sector and getting local consumers to know the French apples.

According to data from French Customs, France exported more than 6,600 tons of apples to Colombia between August 2019 and July 2020, i.e. a 136% increase over the previous season. In fact, according to a report by Asohofrucol published in April 2020, apples are Colombia's most imported fruit, accounting for 33% of total fruit imports.

“Thanks to the trust of all Colombian operators and consumers; more French apples are imported and consumed each year. Our goal is to satisfy consumers with healthy, environmentally friendly, and high-quality products. We will continue to delight the palates of Colombians with our apples, ”said Daniel Soares, the head Interfel's European and International division.

This year, the 'European Rendez-vous: French apples... very crunchy!' campaign will expand its activities when compared to last year's campaign. It will include 75 days of activities at the point of sales, 40 days of Apple Bike in the streets of Bogota, and a training seminar for professionals.
