The Spanish Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, Luis Planas, has said in Cordoba that he is convinced that the European Union will achieve the removal of the 25% tariffs that the United States imposed last year on various European products, including Spanish oil and olives.
This was stated a few moments before taking part in the presentation of the 2020 Agrifood Yearbook of Diario CÓRDOBA, which was held at the Real Círculo de la Amistad with the participation of around a hundred people.
Regarding the start of agricultural campaigns such as that of citrus fruits, the Minister made "an appeal to everyone involved, the autonomous regions, the town councils and the county councils, who have much to do and say to help us prevent new cases "of COVID-19. We have to work together to defeat our fundamental enemy, which is the virus."
Lastly, he addressed the European negotiation of the rules for the application of the Common Agricultural Policy funds, pointing out that "the idea is to have the application model for Spain of the next CAP ready next spring."
