66% up year-on-year

Republic of Georgia exports 2,648 tons of hazelnuts

Under the Georgian government’s strategy, large-scale activities against stink bugs, as carried out by relevant agencies and farmers, have borne fruit. As of September 10, 2,648 tons of hazelnuts exported by Georgia, 66% up year-on-year. Approximately 50,000 tons of quality hazelnuts are projected to be exported in 2020.

Georgia has exported 505 tons of apples, 300% up year-on-year This year's export of apples has brought in US$218,000, 2.5 times the amount of last year.

With state support, apple orchards have been built on 1,128 hectares of land throughout Georgia. Furthermore, Georgia has exported 24,788 tons of peaches and nectarines, 87% up year-on-year. This year's export of peaches has brought in US$20,8 million, 68% up year-on-year.
