On Wednesday, September 2nd, Wonderful Pistachios held a virtual Life Hacks Workshop, which featured tips to live more efficiently. The topics ranged from boosting work-from-home productivity with Amy Landino, meal prepping with Kevin Curry and entertaining hacks with Patrick Janelle, with the ultimate focus on the ‘snack hack’ No Shell Pistachios.
Each of the three speakers held a brief 20-minute presentation and then the attendees broke off into small groups to hold a more intimate breakout session with the hosts to learn more about them and their hacks.
Productivity while working from home
The first speaker was Amy Landino, who is a productive lifestyle coach and best-selling author. Her book “Good Morning, Good Life” focuses on how you can restructure your mornings to live a happier and more productive life. “The goal of the book is to help people find out what works best for them in the mornings. By taking control of your mornings you start your day on your terms,” she explains.
Landino spoke on how to boost your productivity while working from home. She shares: “The most important aspect is balance. When you are working from home, it is easy to think ‘I have all day to finish this.’ But that will hamper your productivity and disturb your balance – it will be way too easy to continue to work until late into the evening. Setting time goals for finishing different tasks will help you stay on task and work efficiently. Focus on your communication: communicate with the people around you but most importantly communicate with yourself. Schedule breaks and nourish yourself. The No Shell pistachios are a great hack for this, because you can easily take a 5-minute break for a healthy snack when the pistachios are ready-to-eat – if they were shelled, 5 minutes definitely wouldn’t be enough time!”
Pistachio energy bars with Kevin Curry
Kevin Curry, the founder of the Fit Men Cook food blog, was the second speaker at the event. He showed off some innovative ways of using the No Shell Pistachios. The first was a pistachio pesto which he used on some pinwheel snacks. “This is a great way to upgrade your pesto, which generally uses pine-nuts or walnuts, and if you use one of the special flavors like the Honey Roasted or the Chili Roasted, it will give your pesto something extra.”
Curry then made energy bars for the webinar’s viewers using oats, honey, peanut butter, dried fruit, and the pistachios – both the Chili Roasted and the Honey Roasted for a nice balance between sweet and salty. “The No Shell pistachios are a great hack in the kitchen, because they allow you to easily incorporate pistachios in your meals, and with these new flavors your entire meal will receive an upgrade,” Curry explained.
Entertaining tips: pay attention to plating
Patrick Janelle was the final speaker. He is the co-founder of an app called The Liquor Cabinet, as well as one of the founders of the Spring Street Social Society, which is an underground supper club. “My number one hack for entertaining is plating your food well,” Janelle shares. “Regardless of what is being served, take care you present it well. You can order in your food from your favorite restaurant and then take it out of the boxes and put it in nice dishes, pieces that mean something to you, to elevate the eating experience. Even we you are eating your pistachios, take your serving and put them into a nice bowl instead of eating out of the bag – this will also help you control your serving size, and you’ll enjoy eating the No Shell pistachios even more.”
The No Shell pistachios are available in four flavors: Roasted & Salted, Lightly Salted, Honey Roasted, and Chili Roasted.
