Last week (August 2-8), the market in various banana production areas fluctuated. In general, prices fell first and then stabilized. Prices in areas such as Guangxi, Guangdong, Hainan, Yunnan, and Laos declined to a certain extent in the first half of this week but the decline was not significant. This was mainly due to the fact that after a wave of slight shifts in prices in these production areas led by an increase in Guangxi last week, the movement of products has not fully kept up, so traders are more sensitive to the high prices, which has led to a slowdown in orders this week.
At present, the market in various production areas has gradually stabilized, indicating that the decline in the earlier period is also a normal phased adjustment. According to the analysis of industry insiders, there is currently limited supply at the places of origin, so prices at the production areas will not be too low, but due to the weak consumer power in the market, the possibility of seeing skyrocketing prices is also low.
