Forward market

EEX in Leipzig (€/q) Bintje, Agria and related var. for processing, 40 mm+, min 60% 50 mm+:

Netherlands

PotatoNL: also available on www.potatonl.com

The rare transactions for the industry generally remain around 3.00 €/q. Factories are working at a good pace, although not at full speed. The growth conditions in the fields have clearly improved with the rain of the last 3 weeks (the Netherlands and Germany got the most rainfall). The demand for livestock is decreasing slightly, the fields being greener again thanks to the rain. Export is coming to an end.

France

Industrial production, bulk, departure, excl.VAT, Nord Seine, €/qt, min–max (moy)(RNM):

More favorable conditions for growth (return of the rain, although still insufficient in some regions) made for a calmer market last week. Some buyers present for fries, as well as chips and flakes. No quotation (end of season).

1.4% increase of 2020 surface areas (source: CNIPT/UNPT + Agreste):

Germany
Fresh market for early native potatoes: most of the potatoes under tarps have been harvested, especially in the southwest (Baden country). Some topkilling has been delayed due to insufficient weights under water.

After significant drops, prices have stabilized around 45.00 €/q.

Imported early potatoes: the Egyptian season has ended, and the last imports from Israel are competing with the Spanish and Italian early potatoes, while native productions have strongly increased. The Spanish origin remains very present and prices are stable or in slight decline.

Processing market

Fontane/Challenger: no quotation. Quotations for other uses (biogas, livestock feed…): 2.00 €/qt (2.00 €/q last week).

Organic potatoes: in the Palatinate (and other subregions with “progress”), the early native organic potatoes are sold at the farm and on small local markets. At the end of June, the first “peaux faites” will be sold in supermarkets.

Indigenous early potatoes, weighted average prices, for all Länder, €/t
