The Local Council of Commerce of the Valencia City Council has unanimously approved a proposal to create the first extraordinary market for the non-sedentary sale of fruits and vegetables in the city, specifically in Castellar-L’Oliveral.
According to the Councilor of Commerce, Carlos Galiana, "this is a historical event, since it will be the first non-sedentary sales market to sell local fruits and vegetables."
In fact, the Council will soon present the basic project to adapt a municipal plot to have a permanent market, but while that is sorted out, "we will launch this market."
Any project for a new non-sedentary sales market in Valencia has to be presented to the Local Council of Commerce, as established by the non-sedentary sales ordinance.
The Councillor said that the Council of Commerce and the Council of Agriculture "will work together to guarantee and certify that the products come directly from local fields."
