Gulf Citrus Growers Association elects Ron Mahan as President

Ron Mahan of Tamiami Citrus, LLC has been elected president of the Gulf Citrus Growers Association for 2020-21, Citrus Industry reported. Other officers are Vice President Danny Sutton of Alico, Inc., Secretary Wayne Simmons of LaBelle Fruit Co., LLC and Treasurer Rob Atchley of A. Duda & Sons, Inc. The elections were held during the association’s 34th annual meeting on June 3.

The association also seated directors during the annual meeting. The directors from Collier County are Mahan, Tom Kirschner of Cooperative Producers, Inc. and Bob Newsome of Barron Collier Partnership. David Wheeler of Wheeler Farms, Inc. is the director from Glades County. Hendry County directors are Atchley, Julian Gardinier of Gardinier Florida Citrus, Dale Johnson of JEBCO Citrus, Simmons and Sutton. The Lee County director is Kirk Harris of Lipman. Dan Pool Jr. of Custom Citrus Care is the at-large director.
