The Italian grape season has started again at LuBa Fresh in the Netherlands. "We are two weeks earlier than last year. The Sicilian Victoria and Black Magic varieties are currently available. These grapes come from Il galletto. They are one of the largest grape producers in Sicily. I have been dealing with them for more than 25 years already," says Lucien de Wit.
"The start of the Italian season is always good. Usually, we can supply these grapes to our clients from now until December."
"The Indian season was very problematic for all importers. That was due to the corona crisis and lockdown. We imported more than 50% volume from India. Many of the planned retail programs could, therefore, not be filled."
"This week, the first containers of seedless grapes will arrive from Egypt. So, we can fill our retail clients' programs again," concludes Lucien.
