Envy apple consolidates in Spanish market

The last days of this year's campaign are around the corner for the apple that is revolutionizing markets across Europe, having reached a turning point in its commercial consolidation.

Envy™ is a variety with an extraordinary character thanks to its quality and flavor. It is characterized by being very juicy, aromatic and crisp, as well as by having a red peel that makes it irresistible.

It was presented to the Spanish market several campaigns ago, but this is the season when, due to the increase in production, the variety has reached all sales channels. The expansion of the variety has made it possible to see the reactions of consumers, which show that the apple is highly appreciated. In general, they agree that it is an amazing apple that offers an extraordinary experience.

Each bite is unique and special and involves all the senses; an explosion of freshness and juiciness. "The appreciation from consumers, together with the media and communications campaign that has been carried out during the first quarter of the year, has led to a dynamic season in terms of sales," says Jacky Feniello, marketing director of Grupo Nufri, the company that produces the Envy™ in Spain.

Meanwhile, other European partners, more specifically Italy, say that “sales have been excellent, with continuity from November 2019 to April 2020. The season is thus considered to have been lively and, as always, the Envy™ has proven to be a very popular apple in our domestic market, as well as in the countries to which we export. Italy is and will continue to be the leading country, followed by Spain and Scandinavia,” says Fabio Zanesco, director of marketing and sales at V.I.P.

For her part, Sabine Oberhollenzer, director of public relations and communication at VOG, says that "this year, with the increase in the production, we have expanded our sales in central and northern Europe, obviously with medium and small apples, which are preferred in these markets, with good sales results. Furthermore, customers have said to be highly satisfied with the quality. The containers shipped to Asia (Hong Kong), where Envy™ is a true leader in terms of quality and price, have yielded excellent results in the retail.”

For the 2020 harvest, everyone agrees that production will increase thanks to the plantations that are gradually coming into full production.
