Vietnam’s fruit and vegetable exports to Thailand hit US$50.51 million in the first quarter of 2020, shooting up more than 300 per cent from the same period last year, according to the General Department of Customs. That contributed to the $1.39 billion in total shipments sent to Thailand during the period, up 0.5 per cent year-on-year.
In March alone, Vietnam sold $554.22 million worth of goods to Thailand, rising 16 per cent from the previous month. Vietnam and Thailand have been facilitating bilateral economic co-operation with the aim of reaching $20 billion in two-way trade turnover this year.
The two countries have created favourable conditions for businesses to increase investment and business cooperation as well as to facilitate agricultural import and export activities.
