The Port of Bolivar Maritime Terminal has stated that it continues to operate normally despite the health emergency facing Ecuador and the mobility restrictions in place due to the coronavirus exception decree.
They also noted that shipments of bananas to the international market proceeding smoothly. In fact, between March 16 and 22, 2020, approximately 1,854,200 boxes of bananas were shipped on 9 of the 10 ships that arrived at this port, and last week the cargo of bananas from that the exporting companies got from local producers of Machala, Pasaje, El Guabo, Santa Rosa, Arenillas, and part of the province of Guayas, arrived.
The Ministry of Transport and Public Works of Ecuador highlighted that the port authorities were implementing all the epidemiological surveillance protocols that the Government of Ecuador carries out in all its operations.
In turn, the Secretary of State pointed out that YILPORT was disinfecting all facilities with quaternary ammonium to protect the health of those who work and enter the port of Bolivar, based on the recommendations that the Ministry of Health has offered to take care of all those who work for the benefit of foreign trade.
